Cheap West End Pubs: the John Snow

A minute or two’s walk away from the chaos of nearby Oxford Street, finds you at the John Snow pub where you can get a surprisingly good pint for around two pounds. It’s full of underpaid creative-types who work for the surrounding Soho production houses. They give the place a laidback atmosphere that's hard not to like. Although if you're planning to get a pint after 5.30pm be warned that the place gets exceedingly full - on most summer (and some winter) nights, the pub's clientel spill out onto the street.

Where: 39 Broadwick Street, W1F 9QJ - see map

Interesting(ish) fact: the John Snow pub was named after the doctor who worked out that cholera was a waterborn disease close to where the pub is situated.
